Core Values
Innovation: New Tech is no ordinary high school experience. We pride ourselves on our learner-led approach to learning. There are no bells, more trust, and project-based learning. This is to give our learners the most agency over their own education as possible. We also encourage our learners to advocate for themselves. In group projects, our learners sign a group contract and are allowed to fire their peers who violate that contract. Our learners are treated as adults and are held to those standards. If they prove themselves untrustworthy, they face the consequences of their actions, not only with facilitators but with their fellow learners as well.
Leadership: Our learners lead our school. At New Tech we don’t have a traditional student council, we have a Learner Leadership Team that is open to every learner! This ensures that every kind of learner is represented and that every voice is heard. They form committees, plan events, fundraise, and represent our school everywhere they go.
Service: To be a part of the community, you need to serve the community. New Tech learners are highly involved in local community service projects and even create volunteer opportunities of their own. Our learners can be found anywhere from elementary and middle school events to Lake Atalanta Cleanups to the Rogers Christmas Parade serving the members of our community!
